The MF PSM 1500 is a layer palletizer built around a two-column structure that delivers robustness, versatility and production speed.
This model handles loads of up to 110 lb with outputs ranging from 1,000 to 1,200 cycles/hour depending on the configuration.
The precision and stability of the palletizer are combined with the compacting capability and the speed of a traditional top-loading palletizer.
The result is an extremely compact and stable pallet, free from the typical upward and downward stresses associated with a top-loading palletizer. The use of brushless motors and high-technology drives makes the PSM 1500 fast and reliable.
Operating Principle
The MF PSM 1500 palletizer operates on a smooth, highly coordinated working cycle, designed to handle the product gently and to ensure a geometrically perfect final pallet squaring.
The process begins when the bags are transferred and accumulated on an inclined belt, before passing through a special shaping roller conveyor that evens out and regularizes their thickness. Immediately afterward, a rotating paddle (driven by a brushless motor and able to turn through 90° or 180°) orients each bag according to the logic of the selected program.
Once ready, the bags are arranged on the belt dedicated to layer forming. From there, a brushless pusher bar transfers them onto the deposit platform, where dedicated side and front plates compact the layer on all sides, eliminating air gaps.
Finally, the sliding platform opens its trapdoors to place the layer directly onto the pallet below. This high-precision cycle is repeated automatically, layer after layer, until the pallet is complete.
The extensive use of brushless drives for rotation, pushing and platform movement ensures rapid, smooth and jolt-free motion.
Pallet Handling
The system includes an automatic magazine for 10–12 pallets, suitable for 31.5 × 47.2 in and 39.4 × 47.2 in formats, with electropneumatic lifting and extraction. The pallet conveyor rollers have indicative dimensions of:
- Width: 51.2 in;
- Height: 19.7 ± 2.0 in;
- Length: defined according to the layout.
Four motorized modules are provided, together with sorting modules and idle roller conveyors according to the plant configuration.
Automation and Operator Interface
The efficiency of our automatic palletizer is based on an advanced electronic architecture coordinated by a Schneider PLC. This technology manages the machine's entire automatic cycle smoothly and continuously, optimizing cycle times and ensuring maximum industrial reliability.
Touchscreen control interface and rapid format changeovers
Day-to-day management of the plant is designed to be immediate and accessible. A touchscreen panel, mounted on an adjustable external pedestal, acts as a centralized control console.
Through this intuitive interface, the operator can:
- Select working programs: the system includes 2 basic palletizing patterns, expandable to up to 10 programs (optional).
- Adjust operating parameters: rapid configuration of all the plant's programmable variables in just a few taps.
- Simplify format changeovers: guided settings that minimize machine downtime when switching from one product to another.
Integrated supervision and active safety
The software provides 360° monitoring of plant status, supporting personnel in their work and ensuring operational continuity:
- Real-time counting and production data: constant monitoring of the number of bags processed and layers completed.
- Advanced diagnostics and alarms: immediate reporting of status notifications and faults for rapid, targeted maintenance.
- Centralized safety: integrated management of emergency systems for maximum operator protection.
Safety
The area is enclosed by floor-fixed perimeter guarding, made from painted steel uprights and galvanized metal panelling. Access points are controlled by photoelectric barriers and safety sensors.
